DD Free Dish 81st E-Auction for Filling Vacant MPEG-2 Slots

 It is exciting news for both broadcasters and viewers that Prasar Bharati has announced the 81st e-auction for the allocation of vacant MPEG-2 slots on DD Free Dish. The auction, scheduled to be held on August 28, 2024, aims to fill the slots for the period from September 5, 2024 to March 31, 2025.

DD Free Dish is India’s only free Direct-to-Home (DTH) service, offering a wide range of channels without any subscription charges. It provides access to a variety of genres including news, entertainment, sports, and regional content, making it a popular choice among Indian households.

Date and Time -

The e-auction will take place on August 28, 2024. The last date for submission of applications is August 27, 2024, at 3:00 PM IST.

Eligibility -

Only satellite channels licensed by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB) are eligible to participate. International public broadcasters with a valid MIB license can also participate.

Application Process -

Interested broadcasters have to submit an undertaking and an integrity pact in the specified format. They also have to arrange their own Integrated Receiver Decoder (IRD) box at the specified DTH earth station in New Delhi.
