Oi launched Prepaid TV Service in Brazil

The Brazilian telecommunications operator "Oi" launched its new service as a prepaid TV, an option currently offered in Brazil by satellite pay-TV company Sky, recently acquired by AT&T from DirecTV. The customer can share the credit between the mobile packet and TV, as well as having the option to refills on 300 000 accredited points.

According to Bernardo Winik, retail director at Hi, the product was created with the intention of attracting the users of the service "Oi TV Free" for pay TV worldwide TeleSíntese said. By purchasing the kit "Oi TV Free HD" users gain access to the main open channels in HD. Winik said there are 1.2 million people using this service.


During ABTA 2016, the company also presented the Video on demand (VOD) Library for Oi platform, which will be available to customers with hybrid STB with DVR or PVR function, and by broadband service.
