Prasar Bharati is likely to have a new CEO by January-end. Three names are in the reckoning before the selection panel that is headed by the vice-president.
The three frontrunners are Jawahar Sircar, the culture secretary, Raghu Menon, former secretary to the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, and Madhavan Nambiar, also an IAS officer.
Sources said the selection panel is going to meet soon to choose a bureaucrat as the new CEO. Suspended CEO B.S. Lalli's term ended last month.
